How it goes on.
Support the axle
Raise the vehicle and support the rear axle so the damper is at normal ride height, not fully extended.
Release the fixings
Hold the piston rod with a hex key, undo the upper stud nut, then remove the lower eye bolt.
Fit and torque
Compress the new damper by hand, align the eye, fit the bolt and torque to the vehicle manufacturer's figure.
Always replace dampers in axle pairs. Re-check ride height and wheel alignment after fitting.
What it is made of.

The outer tube is cold-drawn steel, cut, machined and welded on site, then phosphated and black e-coated. The piston rod is induction-hardened, hard-chromed and polished to reduce seal wear.
- Cold-drawn steel tube, black e-coat finish
- Hard-chrome piston rod, 14 mm
- Multi-stage valve stack tuned to the OE curve
- Nitrogen gas charge for consistent damping
